My purpose in life starts in the home. As a proud father of five children, there's never a dull moment in the Kane household. Our children range in age from a 20 year old junior in college, down to a 5 year old pre-K student. Our family is as diverse as any, and my wife Lena and I enjoy the time spent at home, watching our family grow, laugh, learn, and at times, cry. They are my biggest fans and harshest critics, but I wouldn't have it any other way. As much as I get to know about the lives and family of my clients, I enjoy telling my clients about my own.
I’m extremely passionate about helping others. One might say that I have a “servant’s heart.” As an advisor with over 15 years of experience, I find much satisfaction watching clients’ “aha moment” when they realize that they can, after decades of hard work, retire the way that they want to retire. That realization, however, does not come without sufficient planning, both on their part as well as mine. Holistic financial planning, in my opinion, is the way of the future for the industry, and it’s the way that I’ve focused on growing my wealth management practice. It’s one thing to be able to help clients grow their assets, but it’s completely different, and much more satisfying, to not only help grow, but also diversify, mitigate the risk, draw from, and distribute those assets that my clients have worked so hard to accumulate.
One of my best attributes as a financial professional is an ability to educate my clients about complex financial products that is relatable, not overly complicated or intimidating. My passion for education comes from a stint I did as a Spanish teacher at a private school in southern Louisiana shortly after graduating from the University of Iowa. I taught those students, and to this day, I teach those with whom I meet, in a way so that they can relay to their loved ones what they learned in my classroom (or my office). I truly believe that if you can reach people with varying expertise on a level that they are comfortable, and not a level that makes the advisor feel that they’re the smartest in the room, that a better educated prospect will become a happier client.
